Australian elite triathlete and cyclist Bevan Leach, fresh off a 9th place at the ITU Sprint World Championships, partners with endurance Junkie as he chases his dream of winning an Ironman triathlon, a world championship and racing on every continent.
endurance Junkie will launch in the summer of 2010 with a range of top-notch triathlon apparel. “As an experienced athlete with a past in apparel sales, Bevan is the ideal person to help us develop, test and fine-tune our products”, says Peter Brees, managing director of endurance Junkie.
After a heavy crash during a bike race in early July, Bevan made a steady recovery, eventually placing 9th at the recent ITU Sprint Triathlon World Championships. Through a couple of lead-up races like 70.3 Port Macquarie and 70.3 Canberra, he aims to qualify for Kona at Ironman Australia in April 2010. With the said Kona spot in the bag, he plans on racing a German Ironman race in July, taking chances on the day and going for the win.
“I am looking forward to helping in developing and testing the clothing and getting it on as many podiums as possible”, concludes Bevan.
