endurance Junkie athlete Bevan Leach secured his Ironman Hawaii spot by finishing sixth in the 35-39 age group at Ironman Port Macquarie last weekend.
After a top 3.8km swim in 46′15″ and a very strong bike leg that allowed him to start the marathon leading his age group, he went through a rough patch on the run and choose to play it safe. “It got very hot on the run and I wanted to keep that Kona spot as people were blowing up big time.”, Bevan told us after the race.
With the said Kona spot in the bag, he now has plenty of time for a nice long build leading into race day on October 9 and hopefully another stellar performance…
